Give Wordle a go if you have not tried it yet--an easy tool to use to add variety to your EFL classroom.
Wordle is available online at http://www.wordle.net and it is a visual resource used to create words clouds which can be applied to many uses in the classroom.
Word clouds can be incorporated into common activites to make them more attractive and more high tech.
Check some examples of possible uses below.
1. VOCABULARY
To practise Christmas words, create a word cloud with 10 words and ask them to match them to pictures or use them in sentences or in a story.
2. SONGS - If you enjoy using songs in the classroom for listening comprehension, select words to fill in the blanks and turn them into a word cloud and ask students to discuss the words and possible song theme before playing the song.
